Case Study: Manchester City Football Club

Working with MC Construction, I got the opportunity to work at the Manchester City Academy where the first team and all other developing teams train.  The brief was discussed, and pictures of the finished look were shared along with the dimensions of the seating area.  I visited the site to see the space and the structure which had already been built, I took measurements and shared fabric samples.  Everything was agreed in our first consultation, and I walked away with everything I needed to be able to start the upholstery process. 

The upholstery was sitting in a new room which had been created as a place for the stewards to be briefed, get a brew and generally just be.  The fabric had to be practical, the people using the room were working outside in the elements and had the potential to be sitting on the seating whilst wet or potentially muddy, so the fabric needed to be wipe clean.  We chose a blue vinyl to match the Manchester City RAL number provided. 

The upholstery style was pretty plain, with panels across the back, with piping dividers and nicely padded seat pads.  It looked the part.  We received great feedback from MC Construction and hope to work with them again on some interesting projects.
