Deep Buttoned Footstool Workshop Voucher

Venue: The Promise Co, Leyland Farm, City Road, Worsley M28 1BD 

Duration: Full-day workshop from 9.00am – 5.00pm

This workshop is a hands-on session where you bring 2 metres of your own fabric and we teach you how to upholster a deep buttoned footstool from scratch using various materials and techniques. The workshop aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills which are transferable to other areas of upholstery and needed to design and finish a functional stool.

Workshop Outline:

• Introduction to the Day: Discussion and explanation around how we’re going to upholster the stool
• Safety Guidelines: Important safety precautions while working with tools and materials
• Materials and Tools:
  • Introduction to the materials used (e.g., wood, webbing, hessian, fabric)
  • Overview of the necessary tools and equipment
• Design and Planning:
  • Discussing different design options
  • Measuring and planning the fabric cuts required for stool
• Hands-on Practice:
  • It’s over to you with help from us
  • Guidance and support from team TUL throughout the process
• Finalising the Stool:
  • Assembling and finishing the stool
  • Evaluating the final product and making any necessary adjustments

 Workshop sizes: We’re keeping the workshops small with a maximum of 8 people.  Upholstering a deep buttoned footstool is quite a lot to get through in one day, so we want to be on hand to assist and bring maximum enjoyment to the course.

Materials required: You bring 2 metres of fabric, and we’ll provide you with everything you need to create your own stool.

The size of the footstool frame is 30” x 40”.
